A short reach across the Sir Francis Drake Channel arrive at The Bight, Norman Island. Legend has it that treasure is buried here and was perhaps the island behind Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island. The Bight offers over 100 moorings and is an ideal spot to enjoy your first sundowner and sunset in paradise! Visit Pirates Bight ashore for a fabulous dinner or cocktails before dinner aboard your yacht, and if you're in the mood to party, head over to The infamous Willy T and dance the night away!
After a delicious breakfast on the water, take your dinghy or yacht over to The Caves. Pick up a National Park buoy and enjoy the wonders of the coral reef and its colorful inhabitants (don’t forget to look for treasure!).
Sail to Cooper Island and arrive early enough to pick up an overnight mooring buoy (no anchoring here please). Time for more snorkeling off Cistern Point, or lounging the afternoon away on the beach. Cooper Island is an eco-resort, home to a wonderful restaurant, a rum bar and a fabulous boutique!
Sail to The Baths (get there early) and pick up a buoy – plan to spend the morning here and have lunch. Dinghy ashore and explore the magnificent boulders and rock pools created by Mother Nature millions of years ago. This has got to be one of the most beautiful places on Earth and arguably
the unrivaled star of the Virgin Gorda. The boulders have been adorned with ladders and ropes so you can climb and cross this natural obstacle course.
After lunch, sail to Marina Cay or Trellis Bay to spend the night – there are many places to go ashore or plan to BBQ on board your yacht. Trellis Bay has full moon parties every month – not to be missed! You can also visit the home of the Caribbean Arts & Crafts Festival, Aragorn’s Studio, and pick up some superb local arts and crafts.
Off to The North Sound, Virgin Gorda with some great snorkeling at the Dogs or Mountain Point en route! The Dogs made up of 5 islets, have 11 dive sites many of which are great for snorkelling. Pick up a buoy at this National Park and jump in for a dip!
After taking in the wonders of the world below the surface, head over to The North Sound and spend the rest of your day hopping between Saba Rock and The Bitter End Yacht Club. Try out some watersports, explore the boutiques, or experience the endless activities both have to offer, before drinks at one, then dinner at the other - the best way to do it in our opinion!
Rest day in North Sound so you can take in the many activities available. Snorkeling, restaurants, hiking, watersports or why not book a nature tour at Necker Island? We at Horizon Yacht Charters know this area better than most and will let you into some of its secrets. Spend the morning exploring by dinghy – there are many beautiful, deserted beaches and Eustatia Reef is a wonderful snorkeling site. You can also take a taxi from Gun Creek or Leverick Bay to Hog Heaven, which serves the most amazing pulled pork creations (and lots of other tasty dishes) and the view of North Sound will take your breath away! Or head over to Oil Nut Bay for an afternoon filled with total luxury! Either motor through the gap between Saba Rock and The Bitter End or catch a ferry from Gun Creek.
The luxurious Oil Nut Bay Resort and Nova Restaurant offers wonderful lunches and dinners. Either motor through the gap between with ferry pick-ups from Gun Creek – just remember to call ahead to make your booking. There is a fee for full use of the resort's beautiful pool complex and beach but includes your lunch or dinner and is a 5-star experience! After Oil Nut Bay, head back to the North Sound for your last night soaking up the best of Virgin Gorda.
Sail to Anegada (NB please ensure you give us a heads up before heading over). Anegada is a beautiful coral-reef island and has a totally different, laid-back vibe to the rest of the islands! Follow the channel markers into the Mooring field and pick up a ball. There is plenty to do ashore, including heading to the North shore (by taxi or scooter) where a seemingly never-ending beach awaits. Dine at one of the many beach-based restaurants, Anegada lobster is world-famous!
Rest day in Anegada – a great opportunity to explore this coral island on a Moke! The island is known for its large salt ponds which is home to thousands of flamingos, you can take a guided tour to see the flamingoes or simply explore all the island has to offer on your own accord. Head over to Sids at Pomato Point for a sunset beach walk and some delicious tacos! Tommy Gaunt Kitesurfing based out of Anegada Beach Club is our go-to for any activity on Anegada (he also offers Horizon guests a discount on any activity you decide to do!)
Rest day in Anegada – a further opportunity to explore this coral island or just to chill out on the beach. Snorkel at Loblolly or Anegada Beach Club and head to Tipsy By Ann for some beach games and and endless cocktail menu. You can also organise a private tour with Tommy to explore Conch Island, a one-of-a-kind man-made conch shell island formed over decades by local fishermen - very very cool! Dinner at ABC is a must!
Cruise down the rugged and unspoiled North shore of Tortola and overnight in Cane Garden Bay for your overnight stop. Enjoy great food and entertainment at several locations on the beach, including Myett's, Paradise Club, The Elm Bar Indigo's. Offering one of Tortola's most beautiful beaches, this horseshoe-shaped bay is the perfect spot off which to anchor and dip into the sparkling waters. Laze on the soft white sands and enjoy the casual atmosphere of the beach bars for an amazing sunset.
Rest and enjoy the day on the beach in Cane Garden Bay. Rent a paddle board and check out the reef, snorkel the sunken barge or just soak up the sun and the salt water. Beach bar hop, checkout the Cane Garden Bay Rum Distillery, or maybe even take a taxi tour over the hill to nearby Brewer’s Bay.
Sail over to Sandy Cay and/or Sandy Spit - the set of the famous Corona Commercial! Snorkel, swim and beach comb, then enjoy lunch at the B-Line Bar or Foxy's Taboo on Little Jost.
After lunch, walk to The Bubbly Pools, a natural jacuzzi, before overnighting at Diamond Cay and enjoying a BBQ on your yacht
Rest day to enjoy Jost Van Dyke. Head over to White Bay for the day to the famous Soggy Dollar Bar and visit the brand-new floating spa for a unique massage experience! Hendo’s Hideout serves amazing food, and there is a wide selection of bars and restaurants to keep you entertained all day.
No overnighting at White Bay, so sail up to Great Harbour, JVD where you can also visit the infamous Foxy’s Bar and Restaurant, and hopefully meet the famous entertainer himself.
Set sail for Little Harbour, Peter Island for a serene night on board or head over to the brand-new Peter Island Resort for a memorable dinner ashore! As you watch the sunset, promise yourself you will be back soon to visit the many other wonderful places in the BVI that you didn’t get to see this time.
Time for one more swim then back to Nanny Cay Marina and Horizon Yacht Charters, making sure you have enough time to complete the check-in procedure at our dock. Your flights will be reconfirmed, your taxi already booked and soon you’ll be on your way home, already planning your return!
